A FUNERAL home welcomed visitors interested in an early payment deal.
Lawrence Funeral Home, Bell Hall, Halifax, held an open day for people wanting to buy a funeral plan.
Director Anne Martin said several people, aged from their 50s upwards, showed an interest.
Funeral plans – which are proving increasingly popular – cover all costs.
“You pay the price it is today and if it’s used 10 years hence it will still be paid off and families won’t have to pay,” she said.
Around 750,000 people have bought a funeral plan since they were first introduced in 1985 and the Funeral Planning Authority estimates the number of plans sold is growing by 30 per cent every year.
Funds are secured by being placed in a trust fund until needed.
