A business that expanded by opening a new branch in Halifax is reporting a highly successful start in its new location.
Replacement Service has been supplying car parts for more than 50 years from its original Huddersfield headquarters, but is now also operating from a unit on Pellon Lane.
The expansion created more than half-a-dozen new jobs and managing director Lewis Burns is hoping four or five new vacancies will be created this year.
He said: “We have had a very successful opening month, seeing targets been blitzed.
“I am proud of our achievements in what is the most difficult trading climate we have ever known.
“We have created several new jobs and if we continue in this vein, should be looking for more staff before the year end.
“In 2012 the senior partner and I entered in to discussions about his retirement that led to negotiations about me buying his shareholding.
“This was concluded in December 2012 and as a result, I started planning an expansion program for the business.
“Having successfully secured funding we closed a deal on the premises and set about readying them for business.
“The unit was empty and without lighting or heating so we spent three months installing new lighting, heating and racking and building a new office.
“IT and communications were installed and along with new stocks and staff, we opened on December 16.”
