A £300,000 investment has been made into cutting-edge garment finishing facilities at Advanced Supply Chain, Sidhil Business Park, Holmfield, Halifax.
Last year the site processed more than 40 million garments for the UK’s fashion industry ensuring clothing is quality-checked and pre-retailed efficiently.
Advanced Supply Chain is an end-to-end logistics provider operating from several sites. It employs up to 450 in Halifax at peak times and aims to top £100 million turnover and employ a total of 1,500 people by 2017.
The Halifax site processes garments for the majority of the UK’s fashion retailers, including Next, Asos, George, Matalan and Debenhams and the company also recently invested £5 million in a new distribution fleet.
Company chief executive officer Mike Danby said: “The investment at our Halifax site is in response to a number of new business wins and a very healthy pipeline of orders.
“Increasing our potential capacity by a third will allow us to maintain business growth.
““As the price of freight containers continues to rise, it is now far cheaper to hang garments in the UK than to ship them hanging, and it produces a better presentation. This situation is driving the increased demand.”
