The Mouse House Pottery Co. at Elland has been voted among Britain’s best in a national competition which recognises the efforts of adult learning classes.
.The Ladies’ Night class held on the first Thursday of each month scooped one of the top awards in the Classes For You competition, run by Britain’s biggest parenting website Netmums.
Owner Jenny Kemp was delighted to be crowned a local favourite.
The former financial advisor launched the business in August last year, and since then it has become a well-known spot to entertain the kids by painting pottery.
Jenny knew she wanted to be able to appeal to all ages and abilities, so felt that she needed to run an evening for adults only.
She said: “Pottery painting is not just for children, it’s therapeutic and relaxing.
“We encourage ladies to bring their own wine so they can treat it like a proper night out away from the children and husbands. With the recent launch of ‘decopatch’ now our ladies can paint or collage their pottery in comfort with experienced ‘hands on’ advice.”
“Recently the feedback and interest we have been receiving from our attendees has been really positive.
“So many women go home surprised with what they have achieved in just one evening.
“Winning an award endorsed by Netmums is brilliant, and really sums up what I’ve worked so hard to attain.”
