England’s most capped cricketer addressed an audience of business people at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top.
Alec Stewart, in his role as an ambassador for Yorkshire Bank, talked about his career to representatives of more than 100 businesses.
His career highlights included leading England to a first series win in 12 years against South Africa.
Andy Davidson, of Yorkshire Bank, said: “This was a hugely successful event with an audience very keen to hear Alec’s stories as an international sportsman. He spoke about the personal attributes that professional sportsmen and business people share; persistence, energy, teamwork and tenacity, all of which are necessary to succeed in business as in sport.”
The event also raised money for Help the Hospices, the national charity supported by Yorkshire Bank.
