A PUB company with its flagship watering hole in Sowerby Bridge has been shortlisted for an award

Chameleon, which owns and operates The Moorings, is up for a Publican Award.

The canal-basin bar and restaurant was the first to be run by Chameleon when the firm was set up in 2000, and hosted its 10th anniversary in December.

The company now operates seven pubs throughout the north and is up for the Multiple Operator of the Year title.

Emma Tordoff, manager of The Moorings, said: “We’re delighted to be on the shortlist, not least because this is the first year we’ve ever entered any awards.

“The group operates seven quite different businesses, each run in a very autonomous manner by individual managers.”
