The triumph of Le Tour has resulted in lots of Yorkshire folk taking to their bikes to get fit and healthy.

But not everyone has the time or inclination to tackle the hilly terrain of Calderdale on two wheels.

Many women –and men for that matter - prefer a much easier way of getting their bodies in shape for the beach this summer.

They are following the lead of celebrities like Coleen Rooney and trying out a new award-winning fat-busting machine that has just arrived at Saks Beauty in Albion Street, Halifax.

Coleen had a bit of a helping hand to get her figure back to peak condition after the birth of her second son in May. The Liverpudlian wife of Wayne Rooney turned to 3D lipo – a non-surgical non-invasive treatment that not only claims to melt fat away, but with sound waves and mechanical rollers also tightens skin and reduces cellulite.

The machine, and others like it, are changing the world of weight loss today. The 3D system heats skin up to 41 degrees and melts the fat, which is excreted through the liver. The process continues to work for up to three months with up to 40 per cent permanent fat loss. There is no pain and no downtime.

Little surprise that other celebrities, such as Alex Gerrard and Amy Childs, are fans of the treatment too, and Apprentice winner 2013, Dr Leah Totton is doing a roaring trade with the machine in her London clinic.

Thirty-year-old Becky Barraclough, who owns Saks Beauty and has a one-year-old son, Ruudy, says many of her 3,000 regular customers are young mums who, like her, are keen to get their pre-baby body back. She listened to their concerns and took action.

She’s added a two-room extension and brought in the 3D lipo machine, which Saks have been testing around the country for the past six months. “Saks has done its research and so have I. As far as I am concerned this is the best machine of its kind on the market and the demand for it is unbelievable. We are already packed out with consultations and treatments. The machine is in use every single day. Women are going crazy for it and we are seeing some brilliant results,” says Becky.

She believes the beauty of 3D lipo is that it offers a three dimensional alternative to liposuction, with technologies targeting fat removal, cellulite reduction and skin tightening for face and body. “While lots of our clients want rid of the mummy tummy and will use the fat freezing programme, other women have different concerns about their bodies and will need other programmes such as contouring or cellulite treatment. This machine does it all.”

It’s the fat reducing and cellulite programme on the stomach and thighs that is proving the most popular at the moment...Mum-of-two Jill Tattersley, from Kebroyd, is already a big fan. “It really is amazing. I have only had three sessions on my stomach and I can’t believe the difference. I have lost a stone in weight combining 3D-Lipo with healthy eating and exercise. My stomach is the best it has been since having my children. I can’t wait to see the results after eight sessions.”

All five therapists at Saks have been trained to use the machine including the latest new member, Katie Gledhill. Prices normally start from £100 for inch loss, contouring and cellulite and £250 for fat freezing, but Becky has several offers on at the moment. If you book eight treatments in July for inch loss/cellulite/skin tightening, for example, it is £550 and if you book eight treatments in August it is £600.
