Local fish and chip shop donates portions for national fund raising event.

Mark Kosanovic of Brackenbed Fisheries, Spring Hall Lane, Pellon, Halifax, gave 20 portions of the nation’s favourite Friday fry-up to Halifax Calder Rotary Club which took part in the national fund raising event for the Spinal Injuries Association.

President of Halifax Calder Rotary Stan Richardson said: “Mark said he would like to support the cause by donating free fish and chips.”

Rotarians, partners and friends went to the supper; held at Mr Richardson’s home in Wainstalls where there was a quiz and a raffle.

The evening raised £218.

Every year in the UK over 1,000 people experience a spinal cord injury.
