Fuel supplier expanding

Family-run independent fuel oil company Craggs Energy has expanded over into Lancashire.

The Cragg Vale firm has taken over the Samuel Cooke and Co Ltd depot based at Padiham.

Recently, the Burnley based fuel distributor went into administration resulting in the loss of more than 80 jobs.

Two former Cooke employees have already been taken on.

Craggs Energy managing director Chris Bingham said: “We have built our business by using experienced staff and delivering high levels of customer service at a fair price.

“Opening a depot in the Burnley and Pendle area means we can extend this promise and provide the local area with a family run local company they can trust to take care of their fuel requirements.”

Craggs Eneregy operate from the rural Craggs Country Business Park, New Road, and run a well-equipped fleet to deal with a wide range of customer needs.

The firm promise delivery whatever the weather and supply heating oil, gas oil and diesel to homes, farms and commercial businesses across the region.

This year also sees the company set up a renewable energy division serving both domestic and commercial customers.

It says savings of up to 30 per cent can be made on current energy bills with the installation of renewable energy systems such as solar pv, solar thermal, biomass, wind, hydro and ground source.

Other schemes offered include a managed supply service whereby Craggs’ takes responsibility for managing customer fuel levels for those who pay by direct debit or credit/debit card and they benefit from the best discounted prices.

The firm also provides a range of additives, lubricants and other related products for widespred use from cooking to boilers, tractors and generators.

The Craggs Energy team were seen by many at the recent Halifax Agricultural Show at Savile Park where it had a trade stand.

Mr Bingham said contact was made with many potential customers.
