UPGRADES worth £2 million are in the pipeline for Calderdale’s gas network.
The funding has been announced as part of a £33 million investment programme by Northern Gas Networks across Yorkshire.
It will see 346km of old metal gas mains replaced with durable plastic pipes in the 10th year of a 30-year programme to replace all metal gas mains within 30m of a property.
The upgrades will mainly benefit residential areas and are not expected to have an impact on road users.
Northern Gas Networks says it will work closely with councils to minimise disruption from any work affecting highways.
