Teenage entrepreneurs from Halifax who have set up their own business are gearing up for the finals of a prestigious competition.
Teams of 15-19 year-olds from Halifax, Hull, Doncaster and York are through to the regional finals of the Yorkshire and Humber Young Enterprise Innovation Awards which will be held next Friday at Sheffield University.
Seven A-level students from Crossley Heath School, Halifax, are aiming to revolutionize the gaming scene after designing innovative software which enables people to produce their own video games that they can play within muniutes on an iPad, iPhone, PC or web browser.
Tomas Hiley, 18, the managing director of Crossley’s “Turos Enterprises,” said: “We are all tremendously proud and we are looking forward to the next round.”
They will compete to become the Yorkshire and the Humber’s Company of the Year 2012 and the chance to represent the region at the HSBC Young Enterprise Innovation Awards in London on July 1.
More than 1,200 students originally entered the national competition.
