Last Chance missed for pub

Licensing chiefs have rejected an appeal by the Last Chance Saloon, Cross Street, Halifax, to have a suspension lifted.

The council’s licensing sub-committee earlier this week suspended the pub’s licence at the request of police who cited “serious licensing offences”.

The suspension was with immediate effect, pending a review on September 29.

The premise’s licence holder appealed against the decision but the sub-committee upheld the suspension.
