Leisure airline Monarch has celebrated its first year at Leeds Bradford Airport.

The airport became Monarch’s sixth base last December and from 2014 its flight programme from Leeds Bradford will reach 11 destinations.

Monarch Airlines executive chairman Iain Rawlinson said: “This is an important base for us.

“We are working on plans to develop and strengthen our operations based on the long term partnerships we have established working with Leeds Bradford Airport.”

It is one of the fastest growing UK airports and last year flew 3.2 million passengers to 70 destinations.
