A Brighouse-based window company has beaten 160 businesses to a prestigious national award for its uPVC sash window.
Quickslide were successful in the best window category at the Build-It Awards to add to their Training and Development Company of the Year accolade at the glazing industry’s G Awards and their Busniess of the Year success at the Brighouse Echo Business Awards.
Tom Swallow, sales and marketing director, said: “We’ve been making this wondow for 10 years but it’s not as well known as we’d like.
“Traditionally they’re made of timber but the uPVC version provides a cost-effective alternative that won’t affect the aesthetics of a property.
“We were quite surprised that we won the award but we believe it’s a great product and hopefully this will increase the awareness of it among the public.”
The company was formed in 2004 and manufactures a wide-range of windows and doors for trade and commercial customers.
They currently employ more than 100 staff at its Bradford Road base, although plans are in place for further new jobs next year.
“We’re getting busier in the run-up to Christmas but we’ve had a consistent year and we’ve been able to employ 10 more staff in the past 12 months,” said Tom, who has worked at Quickslide since 2008.
“We’re hoping to add another 10 new staff to the company before the end of the first quarter next year, mainly in production.
“We’ve also got a couple of new product launches coming up but overall we’re just hoping to continue the growth we’ve seen and increase our profile.
Tom believes the quality of the products available through the company has been the key to their success.
He added: “The loyalty of our customers plays a big part, but also the quality of our products.
“We tend to get most of our business through word-of-mouth so it’s important our products are a certain quality.”
