It may have been a nice day for a white wedding but it didn’t stop the bride wearing wellies on her big day.
Rebecca Lund (nee Wood) and Jason Wood went for something a bit different as Rebecca, 24, and her bridesmaids wore wellies under their beautiful dresses.
Meanwhile, Jason, 24, arrived at the Old Golf House Hotel, Outlane, in his finest suit on the back of a tractor driven by his cousin Richard.
“The owner of the hotel said ‘where are you going to leave the tractor?’” said Jason.
“I told him right outside the front door.”
It was truly a day to remember for the young couple from West Vale, who both have family connections to farming.
Jason said: “We always wanted to have a farming theme as we both have a farming background. I wanted to get married in my overalls but she wouldn’t let me so she decided to wear wellies.”
The couple have been together for five years and hope one day to own their own farm as man and wife.
In fact, farming is so much a part of their lives Jason even popped the question in the milking shed.
“I proposed in the milking parlour,” he said.
“She said ‘of all the places you could propose’. But I told her it’s on the farm which will be part of our lives together.
“The cows looked at me like I was mad.”
Rebecca, a receptionist at Stainland Medical Centre, wore a stunning white dress with her wellies and was joined by bridesmaids Katherine Wood, Laura Newsam, Emily Ashworth and Ellie Harker.
