A Halifax-based online provider of racing statistics has experienced 15 per cent growth in revenue thanks to a national partnership.

Proform Racing is an online formbook for horseracing professionals and supporters. Formed in 2000 by Simon Walton, the firm supply horseracing statistics that are used by horse racing professionals to help predict outcomes of future races.

The firm attributes much of its growth to its online presence which has attracted bookmakers Ladbrokes and their subsidiary Betdaq.

Proform Racing’s proprietary software, developed by Simon, was available via desktop software and via online charts and tables but Simon recognised the business needed an extended platform.

In 2015, the business partnered with Birstall-based Ascensor who developed the Proform website to initially provide subscription based access before developing the website’s interactive race-guides to enable Proform to stream data into the website which is then plotted onto interactive charts.

These charts provide users with cross-referenced data for each day’s racing meetings in the UK and Ireland.

The success has led to Betdaq forming a partnership with the firm.

Simon from Proform said: “Since Ascensor have been our website developer, our business as grown by 15 per cent and with the partnership with Betdaq, we estimate growth this year to be around another 25 per cent.”
