Sixteen happy couples flocked to the Halifax Minster for a wedding breakfast with a difference.
The breakfast usually follows a marriage ceremony but this wedding celebration was held before, with the 16 couples making their marriage vows later in the year.
The couples from across the borough and surrounding areas joined together last weekend at the Minster in preparation for their big day.
As well as meeting each other, the couples enjoyed a tour of the beautiful medieval building which has been hosting weddings for more than 900 years.
Brides and grooms met the priest who will marry them, as well as the other people who will play a part in their special day.
The wedding breakfast was the prelude for the Minster’s very first Wedding Fair, which will be held on Bank Holiday Monday -May 25 from 11am to 4pm.
The Vicar of Halifax Canon Hilary Barber, said: “Halifax Minster is very excited to be hosting its very first wedding fair. We want to promote marriage as being at the heart of society, and for people in Calderdale to know that the Minster boasts the best venue for any wedding.
“We hope to support the local economy by inviting those in the wedding industry to come and hire a space to sell their wares, alongside the Minster stall, where couples will be encouraged to come and book their special day in the most historic venue in Calderdale.”
