A spectacular lights show lit up the skies of Yorkshire for one night only as Ploughcroft Eco-Roof celebrated saving the region a staggering £1million in energy bills.
Coinciding with the Tour De Yorkshire, where the spotlight was already on the region, the unique awareness event sent out a positive green message, as the local energy efficiency specialist lit up Halifax’s Beacon Hill and the surrounding skies.
The spectacle was visible for miles around, reaching parts of Brighouse, Huddersfield, Bradford and Hebden Bridge.
At regular intervals Ploughcroft also diverted the lights away from the tower to focus on future exciting historical buildings in the surrounding area that it will be working on in the near future.
The spectacle was so bright it required clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority.
The event was attended by many local residents, with many watching from nearby fields, whilst others viewed the event from their homes and gardens.
Since launching Eco-Roof in 2014, Ploughcroft has helped homeowners across the region save hundreds each year on their energy bills.
Chris Hopkins, managing director, said: “We are proud that we have been able to help homeowners across West Yorkshire make such dramatic energy savings, and that’s why we decided to fund this event; helping not only celebrate this milestone, but spread awareness of the importance of energy efficiency.”
