Halifax firm Expect Distribution hosted a charity day to celebrate 25 years in business.

In aid of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, the day was attended by 150 employees who enjoyed a variety of activities and events.

Entertainment included disco and karaoke, there was a presentation of awards for Expect employees, and a special ‘This Is Your Life’ for managing director Robert Rushworth, who was taken down memory lane by a cast of Expects’ employees.

During the day, six brave Expect employees, including operations director Neil Rushworth, headed to Hibaldstow Airfield in Lincolnshire to skydive, sponsored by both clients, employees and friends.

Steph Gibson and Joanne Pearson from the traffic office team had their heads shaved at the barbecue to increase the money raised for the hospice.

The evening raised just over £6,000 through donations of generous employees and sponsors. The directors very kindly increased this amount to £7,500.

Mr Rushworth said: “The day proved to be a fantastic way of celebrating 25 years in business and we are very proud to raise this amount of money for the hospice, an unbelievable facility for children with life limiting illness’ and their families- a charity worthy of anybody’s support.”

Jason Costello, from the hospice said: “I hope everyone involved is proud of their fundraising achievements. Their generosity and kindness is really helping make a huge difference to the lives of local children and families.”
