Hard landscaping company Marshalls, of West Lane, Southowram, has begun talks with trades unions and employees over the need to reduce output - a move that puts 30 jobs at risk.
“Earlier this year, we had a very positive dialogue with our workforce and their representatives and agreed some important changes to the way we operate and to working practices,” said site manager Jon Wilson.
“Since then, conditions have become even more challenging and it’s important for us to react appropriately to the situation, so that there’s a match between our activity, capability and the needs of the market.”
He said talks were underway with staff at the West Lane site to examine options to help protect as many jobs as practically possible, while keeping the company competitive.
It is understood that the jobs under threat include training and sales managers.
