THE FORGET Me Not Trust got a much needed boost from a local hotel.
The Tower House Hotel, Pye Nest, raised more than £2,000 in an evening for the children’s charity.
Comedian Johnnie Casson was on the bill as the star of the night, hosted by Pete Emmett.
Local bands The Wainhouse Four and Molly and Jess entertained the crowd and all performers donated their fees to the charity.
Special mentions were given to Sophie and Scarlett Kane who raised £235 selling homemade cakes and cards.
An auction and raffle was held on the night which raised plenty for the charity.
Andrew and Susan Holt offered their holiday apartment in Ibiza, which raised a staggering £600.
The Tower House Hotel’s chefs offered a slap-up meal in the home of one lucky bidder, who won with a bid of £200.
And boxer Liam Walsh donated a pair of his shorts, which were snapped up by 13-year-old Joshua Kane.
Sowerby Bridge restaurant The Village put up a meal for two, which was claimed with a bid of £50.
The grand total raised on the evening was £2676.
The Forget Me not Trust are trying to raising £2.5 million to build a children’s hospice in Huddersfield for the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield area.
