STUDENTS threw their mortar boards into the air to celebrate years of studying at their graduation on Saturday.
Hundreds of graduates celebrated with their friends, families, classmates and tutors.
After gowning up at the White Swan hotel they paraded from the town hall through the town centre. Their route took them to the Victoria Theatre via Princess Street and Alexandra Street. They were led by the Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade of Halifax. Roads were closed so the people of Calderdale could celebrate with them.
The celebration recognises the success of the college’s higher education students and the contribution they make to the local, regional and national economy.
Special awards at this year’s ceremony went to Lesley Halpin for enterprise and leadership, Julie Jones, who took the health and wellbeing award and Emma Bolger, for outstanding success.
