Calderdale crews help to battle moorland fire in Marsden

Crews from Calderdale helped to battle a moorland fire in Marsden, Huddersfield, yesterday (Monday).

Firefighters from Elland and Illingworth as well as the Wildfire Unit and support appliance from Todmorden joined teams from Huddersfield, Meltham and Slaithwaite to put out the fire in Netherwood Lane.

The crews were called at 12.25pm to the fire which measured 120 metres by 100 metres.

They used one argocat, one fire fogging unit, two jets and seven backpacks to tackle it.
