Halifax Minster held a memorial service for Nelson Mandela to allow local people to pay their respects to the iconic leader who died aged 95.
Vicar of Halifax, Canon Hilary Barber, said it was fitting that the minster offered an opportunity for people to remember him. The South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and politician served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was given a state funeral last Sunday after 10 days of mourning. His passing dominated news bulletins across the world.
