A car has hit a lamp-post after rolling down a hill in Halifax

The white Vauxhall Corsa, which had been parked outside McColls convenience store, Rye Lane, Pellon, is thought to have rolled down the hill at around 6.30 am.

The car coursed down Highroad Well Lane, before colliding with a lampost on Sandbeds Road - opposite Christ Church Primary School.

David Heavyside saw the car as he dropped his granddaughter off at the school at 8.45am.

“It’s amazing that nobody has been injured and it didn’t cause any serious damage,” he said.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the car had rolled down the hill and that there were no injuries.
