A CLASSIC car rally raised £100 for a church development fund. The grounds of All Saints, Elland, were transformed to house 20 classic and vintage cars, as well as two motorbikes.

The winner was Michael Broadbent, from Royston, South Yorkshire, with his 1934 Rolls-Royce 20/25. His prize was handed over by Fr Philip Chadwick.

Peter Uttley, a churchwarden at St Mary’s, Elland, is also the owner of a vintage gem – a classic Riley.

The show was organised by Roland Crosby, of Wakefield, secretary of the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club.
