Cash machines hit by power cut at bank site

BANK customers across the country have been hit after a power cut at the bank site in Copley.

Thousands of Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers have been unable to use cash machines or access online banking sites following the power failure earlier today.

The company says power has now been restored and they are working to get services back to normal.

A spokesman said: "An external power disruption at an IT centre in Yorkshire has caused problems to a range of Halifax and Bank of Scotland services.

"We apologise to customers for the disruption and inconvenience this is causing."

Branches were open for customers as usual.
