Cause for fun and music

CALDERDALE teenager Tom Milner and his band will play three sessions at Bramley Carnival on Sunday (July 20).

Unknown Cause, of which 17-year-old Tom is lead singer, is the featured band of the day at the event, which will be held at Bramley Park, off Town Street, Bramley, LS13 (near The Globe pub).

And with the weather due to pick up on Sunday, organisers hope Calderdale people will head to the Leeds area for a sunny Sunday afternoon of music and fun.

Tom and the other band members – Steven Barlow, 15, on rhythm guitar, Tom Lilley, 16 (drums), Sam Masterson, 15 (lead guitar) and Sam Kelly, 15 (bass guitar), met while at Intake High School Arts College in Bramley where four of them are still at school.

The band is following in the footsteps of many past pupils of the school, which include Mel B from the Spice Girls, actress Angela Griffin and Jack P Shepherd, David Platt from Coronation Street.

Unknown Cause were in the National Final of the Live and Unsigned Under 18s competition which was held in London last month, competing against 15 other unsigned acts chosen from around the country. They did not win but enjoyed the experience.

Unknown Cause will be playing on the main stage from 11.30am to 12pm, 1.10pm to 1.50pm and 6.20pm to 7pm.
