CCTV of '˜drunk and rowdy' fans sought by police

The British Transport Police is investigating following reports by a woman travelling on the service that she was left feeling ‘offended’ and ‘disgusted’ by the group’s behaviour, on Saturday, December 28 2015 at around 1.15pm.

The 33-year-old woman from Halifax boarded the train at Hebden Bridge and sat in the rear carriage.

Immediately she noticed the group of between 10-12 fans, who were singing sexist and offensive songs.

One of the group climbed into the overhead luggage rack, another was throwing his shoes around the carriage, which were narrowly missing other passengers.

PC Jo Kellert from BTP said: “This was completely unacceptable behaviour from the group, which must have been uncomfortable and offensive for the woman who reported this incident to us, and other passengers in the carriage.

“We are committed to stamping out football-related anti-social behaviour on the rail network and are doing all we can to identify the individuals concerned. If you were on the service and witnessed the incident, please come forward and contact us as you may have information with could help us to do this.”
