The flag raising ceremony will also be attended by officers from the 4YORKS - Corunna Company - Yorkshire Regiment.

People attending the ceremony are asked to meet at 9.50am at Broad Street Plaza, Halifax, for a great view of the Town Hall flagpole.

Coun Tim Swift, Calderdale Council’s leader, said: “Everyone is welcome to join us at our annual flag raising ceremony. It’s a chance to come together to mark our respect and thanks to the Armed Forces and veterans for their tireless work and bravery.

“If you’d like to learn more about the local history of the Armed Forces, the informative and thought-provoking ‘For King and Country’ exhibition and the Duke of Wellington’s Regimental Museum at Bankfield Museum, are open throughout the year.”
