The Forget Me Not Trust has a new ambassador – Halifax paralympian Hannah Cockroft.

Hannah, a double world athletics champion, has taken on her latest challenge to help the Bradley-based hospice which will cater for children from Calderdale and Kirklees.

Her role is to raise awareness of the trust and of the need for fund-raising.

Staff hope she will also become a role model for patients.

Peter Branson, from the charity, said: “Hannah will be an inspiration to the children we care for and we are honoured to have her support.

“We are looking forward to working with her on a number of projects over the next few months.”

Hannah has already started work. She launched a partnership between the hospice and CBS Outdoor Media, by presenting the first of two buses to the charity with the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice logo.

They were donated by the international media company to help promote the hospice.

Hannah said: “I’m excited by the fact that these buses will carry the hospice name all across the area.

“There are many families that may need support but are still unaware that it is available to them.”
