Charity cycle for youth employment comes to an end

Six of the seven cyclists have completed the 960 mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

The cycleforwork team have made their up the length of the country to raise funds for 25 apprenticehips in Calderdale.

They finished their ride at 3.28pm yesterday (Sunday).

Steve Duncan, chief executive of Community Foundation for Calderdale came up with the idea but has been joined by six intrepid associates. “We realised a personal ambition but more importantly rounded off a hugely successful mayoral year raising more than £100,000 and giving 25 young people much needed jobs.”

They were overwhelmed on Wednesday (April 24) when hundreds of schoolchildren lined the streets of Calderdale as the team made its way through the borough.
