Cheesemaker’s year is off to a right Royal start

Princess Anne was the guest of honour at Pextenement Cheese Company’s open day.

She met owner Carl Warburton and the team, had a tour of the premises in Eastwood, and sampled some of the Pextenement cheeses.

Carl said: “It was an amazing experience.

“A lot of planning went into and I think it all came together on the day.”

Carl invited about 50 people who have helped the company over the years to attend the open day and celebrate with the team.

Among the guests was Mayor of Todmorden Coun Abid Hussain.

“It was a great honour to meet Princess Anne,” he said.
