Halifax’s sporting and comedy stars will help celebrate the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards tonight - Friday.
The New Dock Hall, Leeds, hosts an event which will play a major part in raising £60,000 for local causes.
Among the guests include Olympic and World Champion wheelchair sprinter Hannah Cockroft who said: “I’m so excited to be attending the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards. It’s set to be an incredible evening and I’m looking forward to meeting the inspirational children involved.”
The stage is set for co-hosts Jack Carroll from Hipperholme, comedian and runner-up at Britain’s Got Talent, and BBC breakfast business journalist, Steph McGovern, to present 11 awards to inspirational young people from Yorkshire.
Around 700 people are set to attend the event organised by the Leeds committee of St James’s Place Foundation. Funds raised at the event are matched pound for pound by St James’s Place Wealth Management. The foundation has been funding charities since 1992 and has raised and distributed more than £30m over the last 20 years.
