Children reveal their favourite dog breed

British children have picked the Dalmatian as their favourite breed of dog.

A survey carried out by toy brand Puppy in my Pocket revealed that the spotty canines were a clear favourite with youngsters, with 21 per cent of those quizzed voting for them.

The breed was popularised by the 101 Dalmatians films.

Kids could choose from breeds such as pugs, French bulldogs, dachshunds and Tibetan terrier as part of the survey.

In second place was the cocker spaniel with 14 per cent of votes, followed by labradors, Jack Russells and poodles. Traditionally ‘ugly’ breeds such as pugs and bulldogs scored lowly.
