Christmas came early for 50 young people and families in Calderdale, thanks to the Sick of Being Skint team.
The project, run by Pennine Housing 2000, a member of the Together Housing Group, works with young people and families in Calderdale to manage money, budget and maintain tenancies.
And with Christmas fast approaching, the team were able to get goods from generous local businesses to create festive hampers.
Sick of Being Skint Manager Sherraden Gibson said: “We come across people with all different needs and Christmas is one of the most difficult times for everyone and it came to the team’s attention that a lot of young people and families on the project would be alone and have very little this year.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support from Hovis, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Suma, Nestle and the generosity of staff and friends at PH2K.
“We have also been awarded a grant from Together Housing this with the local support have enabled us to make a total of 50 hampers.
“We’d just like to thank everyone who got involved in making a difference to the community this Christmas.”
