Hills, Mills and Houses is a solo exhibition by Clare Caulfield which is being shown at Hebden Bridge’s Heart Gallery.

Clare is a Yorkshire-based artist and printmaker who graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Surface Pattern Design from Staffordshire University in 2000.

She combines the processes of drawing, painting, collage and various printmaking techniques to captures the excitement, life and vibrancy of many of the world’s most enticing cities including Paris, New York, Venice, Rome, London, Sydney and Prague; the magic of each location being recreated in Clare’s very distinctive and appealing illustrative style of working.

After showcasing originals and limited edition prints of her city work at Heart Gallery now for seven years its owners thought it was time Clare gave Hebden Bridge, Haworth and Saltaire a sprinkling of her spontaneous and lively line work. The terraces of Hebden Bridge, the cobbles of Haworth and the architecture of Saltaire have all been interpreted in Clare’s instantly recognisable style for this exhibition Hills, Mills and Houses which launches on Thursday March 27 at 6pm at Heart Gallery, The Arts Centre, 4a Market Street, Hebden Bridge.

For an invitation to the launch and the opportunity to meet Clare and to chat to her about her work, please contact Heart Gallery on 01422 845845. The exhibition runs until July 13.
