Libraries across our borough celebrated the National Libraries Day last Saturday as part of the annual celebration that commends Libraries nationwide.

Now in it’s fifth year the day highlights the great services libraries offer and aims to get people who don’t already benefit from a membership to sign up.

There was a great response in all of our libraries as they opened their doors for a day of great fun with activities for all the family including quizzes, crafts, treasure hunts, exhibitions and also visits from poets and story tellers.

The day which was a great hit with children in Calderdale over the weekend is the latest move in order to prevent cuts and speak up for our public service. Calderdale showed that there really is a lot of love for ourlibraries out there.
