Conference aims to inspire local charities

Calderdale charities are welcomed to a fundraising and philanthropy conference organised by Community Foundation for Calderdale.

The Inspiring Fundraising and Philanthropy in 21st Century conference is taking place at Dean Clough, Halifax, on March 11, from 9am-4pm.

CFFC is inviting professional fundraisers, charity volunteers and the wider public interested in raising money.

The event will feature inspirational speakers including key speaker Phil Packer MBE who won recipient of Fundraiser of the Year at the Pride of Britain Awards.

“I feel honoured to have been asked to speak at this innovative and visionary event. Working together in partnership is vital to ensure the sustainability and success of a charity to carry out its work and I look forward to giving my support.”

Other speakers include Marcelle Speller OBE and founder of, author of Richer Lives, Why Rich People Give, Ben Breeze, Jonathan Straight from Straight plc Leeds and Calderdale philanthropist Pat Russell.

Guests will be welcomed by the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Dr Ingrid M Roscoe and will hear from host and director of the institute for philanthropy Mary Glanville.

In line with the ethos of the event all monies raised from ticket sales (minimum donation of £10 per person) will go to Phil Packer’s charity BRIT - supporting young people.
