The eight-month construction of a Cross Hills church has been completed.

Cross Hills Methodist Church has relocated to the new church building in Greetland.

The new premises hopes to bring more facilities to church goers and there are plans for the church to become a community asset that is able to be used every day of the week for events and other uses.

Janet Revill, the Church Organist and Youth Leader and Worship Leader, said: “We are looking to develop services with a difference making them accessible to people of all ages.

“In the past we have run a very successful JC’s (5 – 11) and Youthie (11+). We certainly hope to see all those who have been with us in the past and invite them to also bring their friends to use our new facilities.”

Geoff Butler, the Church Treasurer and Project Manager for the building scheme, said: “Although this phase of the works is nearly completed, we have now to ensure that the facilities are properly managed for religious and community use.

“We certainly invite people to come and see us and we will be pleased to see them for a coffee or a chat.”

‘Drop in’ days and times will be available for the community soon.

Although the construction of the building has been completed, work to the exterior is expected to be completed by September 28.
