Cops probe early hours crash and attack link

Police are investigating whether an attack on three young women and a crash in Halifax town centre are linked.

Officers were called to reports the three women had been assaulted outside McDonalds at 6.55am yesterday.

Just a few minutes later, at 7.02am, an accident on Great Albion Street was reported.

A car had crashed into street furniture.

A man has been arrested in connection with the crash on suspicion of drink driving,

He was being questioned at Halifax police station yesterday.
