Appeal for help to solve a murder in Leeds 12 years ago

Police are appealing for the public’s help to solve a murder that happened in Leeds 12 years ago.

Leonard Farrar, 71, was found dead at his home on Cardinal Road, Beeston, Leeds on May 4, 2002.

The retired Merchant Naval officer, who lived alone, had been stabbed to death.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fountain, of the Protective Services (Crime) team, said: “Someone out there knows what happened to Mr Farrar.

“With the passage of time allegiances change and people who have not previously come forward may now feel able to do so.

“We are regular contact with his family and they deserve closure about what happened to him.

“I am appealing directly to anyone with any information about what happened to come forward.”
