Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed in the street in Bradford last night.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, was walking along Back Laisteridge Lane at about 9.40pm when he heard footsteps and was grabbed from behind by a male.

A knife was held to his throat and the man demanded his phone and wallet. The victim began to hand over his wallet but then tried to grabbed the knife and received serious cuts to his fingers.

The robber then took the man’s phone and wallet and ran off towards Laisteridge Lane.

The victim received hospital treatment for his injuries.

Detective Constable Katie Madden, from Bradford District Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “This was clearly a frightening experience for the victim who has been left with some very serious injuries to his hand. I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the robber running off.”

The suspect was described as an Asian male, aged 15 to 25, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short black hair. He was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Madden at Trafalgar House via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
