Detectives are investigating after a man was mugged in Huddersfield.

The 26-year-old victim was walking along Yew Green Road in Lockwood when he was approached by two men.

The suspects and the victim had a friendly chat and agreed to order a taxi together.

One of the suspects used the victim’s phone to call the cab, but then refused to return it. The second suspect then assaulted the victim and demanded cash.

The victim handed over around £13 and the suspects walked off towards Crosland Moor with the cash and the phone.

One was in his 40s, stocky and wearing a blue baseball cap and blue jacket. The other was in his early 20s, slim and with short mousey blonde hair. He was wearing a light or white jacket.
