Appeal to trace replica wild west pistol

Police are appealing for information to trace an imitation wild west pistol stolen in a burglary in Thornhill, Dewsbury.

The replica Colt .45, which cannot be converted to fire ammunition, was taken from a house in Lees Avenue, Dewsbury, on December 9, 2014.

The offence took place between 7am and 6.30pm after a suspect broke in and then fled with property and the victim’s grey Peugeot 308 hatchback car.

Among the items taken were the pistol, which is grey with a brown hilt, and a black leather Western/Cowboy style holster with dummy rounds in loops across the back of the belt.

A gold signet ring with a square face stamped with the initials CW was also taken.

DC 6143 Iain Campbell of Kirklees CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this burglary or who has seen these distinctive items for sale to contact Kirklees police.

“The signet ring in particular is of sentimental value to the owner and cannot be replaced. I would also stress that the Colt pistol is an imitation and cannot be converted to fire ammunition.
