Arson attack on car causes damage to homes

Police are appealing for information after a vehicle was deliberately set on fire while parked outside a residential address on All Souls Street in the Boothtown area of Halifax.

Detective Constable Louise Halliwell, from Calderdale CID, said: “The incident occurred around 02.20am in the early hours of May 12 when the owner of the Peugeot 405 vehicle heard the alarm and then saw the vehicle was well alight and called the fire service.

“The severity of the fire damaged two nearby properties and the car was written off as a result of the fire.

“Subsequent investigation has revealed fire was deliberately lit.”
