A YOUNG person deliberately drove a go-kart into a support worker and then spat in her face, according to the latest list of violent and aggressive incidents recorded in Calderdale.
Other incidents during the past six months included primary school children swearing, kicking, pinching, punching and slapping teachers.
One angry parent threatened to “knock a teacher’s block off” while others shouted abuse down the telephone.
Calderdale Council recorded 39 incidents involving school and support staff between January and June, although none were related directly to secondary schools.
Several children and even an adult are said to have thrown chairs at staff, according to the report by health and safety chief, Martin Allingham, to the council’s education employees forum.
