Body found at scene of caravan fire in West Yorkshire village

Police were called to a report of a caravan on fire in Stone Lane, Oxenhope, at 3.30am today (Tuesday).

Nearby residents were evacuated to a local community centre after gas canisters were found near the fire.

The body of a man was found at the scene, a police spokesperson confirmed.

Officers are working to establish his identity.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is not being treated as suspicious and West Yorkshire Police are continuing to investigate with the fire service.

Road closures remain in place and people are advised to avoid the immediate area.
