Bradford police hunt attempted armed robbers

Police are appealing for witnesses after two masked men tried to rob a commercial premises in Bradford.

The incident happened around 3pm on Thursday, April 3, when two men entered the premises in Haworth Road and made demands for cash before trying to force their way into the staff area.

The men then fled empty-handed in a white vehicle with black alloy wheels. This is believed to be a Nissan or Subaru and was driven by a third suspect.

A fourth passenger was possibly in the vehicle, which drove off towards Sandy Lane.

No one was injured.

The two suspects, who wore face coverings and gloves were believed to be white. Both were of medium build.

One was around 5ft 8 ins tall and was wearing grey trousers and a light blue hooded top. The other was slightly taller and wearing dark trousers and a dark hooded top.

Both spoke with local accents and were possibly carrying hammers or axes.

Det Insp Neil Benstead, of Bradford District CID, said: “This was a frightening attack for the member of staff involved and I am asking for anyone with any information on the vehicle or the suspects to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
