Over the Covid-19 pandemic the building has deteriorated greatly because it has not been possible for essential work to be carried out.

Despite the council’s best efforts the building continues be in a desperate state of repair.

The building has had consistent leak and water damage to multiple rooms making it impossible for the charity to store essentials safely. This has also forced the charity to relocate its main office space due to a ceiling leak and work amongst the clothes and equipment.

The building has also attracted a spate of anti-social behaviour, according to the charity.

“In March 2020 the poor condition of the building and serious safety concerns meant the council had to take back control of the centre.

"We've worked hard and invested significantly to improve safety on site.

“It's very disappointing that this well-loved community facility has been selfishly vandalised, and we're sorry to hear about the impact on tenants.
